The long awaited Super star starrer Endhiran has definitely taken Tamil cinema to its next level. With a never before Indian movie making budget of Rs. 160 crores, the movie has several special features in it including excellent costumes, make-up, screenplay, music and direction. Years of hard-work is very evident in the movie.
Though the concept of humanoids, artificial intelligence and EQ among robots has been brought out in several English movies including the famous Will Smith starrer i-robot, translating such a concept into a Tamil movie whose audience is limited compared to that of English movies requires a lot of courage; hats-off to the James Cameroon of India, dear Mr. Shankar.
Though the movie seemed to be a bit lengthy and pulling slowly in the middle, the climax was excellent and the graphics was amazing. At the end of the ‘close to 3 hours show’ I definitely got the feeling of having watched an English movie in the genre of ‘Terminator series’.
Aishwarya was definitely beautiful despite her age, thanks to the beautiful make-up and costume designing. I am unsure if any other hero would have done justice to this role or rather putting this way, ‘This movie would not have created the impact it has now created but for Rajini’s presence’.
One last word before I wrap up, Shankar is even luckier than James Cameroon because “ THERE’S NO RAJINI IN HOLLYWOOD’....Rajini rocks!
