The movie is a hi-fi science fiction which is based in the year 2154. The movie revolves around the differences between the human race from earth and the Na'vi (blue monkeys) from another world called Pandora. As the humans want to explore Pandora for resources, they find that they are unable to breathe the air on Pandora and take up project Avatar; a project to create human-Na'vi hybrids called 'avatar' (a sanskrit word). The protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a former US marine force officer is chosen to become the avatar and become a part of the Na'vi. He learns the practices of the Na'vi and admires their innocence and way of life - living in communion with Nature. Undoubtedly he falls in love with the princess of Na'vi - Neytiri (Zoe Saldana). Now the humans decide to encroach Pandora and start destroying the beautiful place killing several Na'vi. Jake chooses to be a part of Na'vi and fight against humans. The battle begins. How do these blue-coloured, money like tailed creatures measuring around 10 feet and not as sophisticated or advanced like the human race fight for their right to survive and right to protect their homeland is the climax.
The movie concept is very creative. The imagination and design of the Na'vi are excellent. The graphics is amazing. Every single aspect has been well taken care of. Team work is very evident. Though I had been expecting for a break(intermission) for a very long time (thought the movie was a bit lengthy) I felt wholesome after watching the movie. A well deserved result after decades of planning and hard work. A 3D movie after a very long time, great!
Do the Na'vi succeed in their battle against the humans? Watch out! Hats off to you Mr. Cameron! Oscars are on their way..
